What to Watch Out for When Hosting a Virtual Event
We may be used to birthday parties, happy hours, and friend chats moving online but did you think you would have to plan your next live event or retreat on Zoom⁉️
If you are like a lot of business owners I know, your amazing mastermind retreat planned for {enter any location outside your living room here!} has been replaced with a virtual retreat. Or your live yoga workshop is now virtual. Or the amazing live event you were planning for 100 women biz owners is yep...online.
While there is no doubt that live events have a ton ‘o liability attached to them, virtual events have their own set of issues to contend with.
Here are just a few things that go wrong when hosting virtually:
❌ internet is slow as molasses or zoom goes bust for the day
❌ your speakers bow out at the last minute
❌ you realize your participants are all sharing the login to your PAID event 😱
❌ karen (sorry karen) really dislikes one of your speakers and decides to file a chargeback
❌ karen takes your entire event recording and starts selling it online to her customers 👀
❌ karen tries that yoga move you demonstrated and ends up in the hospital with a broken hip (and blames you!)
Guys, are these all going to happen to you? Probably not. Will one of them happen at some point? Yes. The good news is that your Terms of Purchase protect you from ALL of this! Even if we can’t control karen, we can stop her in her tracks!
